Standard Operating Procedure for Operation of Pin Hole Tester

1.0 Purpose:

To lay down a procedure for Operation and Cleaning of Pin Hole Tester.

2.0 Scope:

The scope of this SOP is applicable for Operation and Cleaning of Pin Hole Tester.

3.0 Responsibility:

QC Personnel: Operation and Cleaning of Pin Hole Tester.

Head QC/ Designee: To monitor the activity.

4.0 Definitions:

5.0 Procedure:

5.1 Ensure that the instrument is cleaned after every operation.

5.2 Turn “OFF” the mains after use.

5.3 Handle the instrument with care.

5.4 Operation:

• Turn “ON” the mains of the Pin Hole Tester.

• Open the lid of the instrument.

• Turn “ON” the tube lights of the instrument.

• Place the foil on the glass.

• Manually observe for any pinholes.

• Record your observations.

5.5 Cleaning Procedure: Wipe down the outer surface of the Pin Hole Tester with a dry, clean cloth.

6.0 Acceptance Criteria:

Not Applicable.

7.0 Frequency:

7.1 Operation: As and when required.

7.2 Cleaning: After every operation as per defined procedure.      

8.0 Format for recording:

8.1 Format for “Instrument Usage Logbook”.
